I provide a warm, open, and interactive approach to the therapeutic relationship. I offer an opportunity to increase self-awareness and change ineffective patterns in life and relationship. I use an emotion focused, compassionate perspective to support conscious awareness, freedom to choose, and power to change.
Over the last 20 years, I obtained my masters degree in professional counseling as well as certification as an alcohol and drug counselor. I have extensive clinical experience helping hundreds of couples and individuals find meaning and growth through their emotional pain.
I’ve been highlighted as a licensed therapist on A&E Network’s “Intervention,” and my insights have been featured on podcasts and multiple local and international media outlets.
I love helping disconnected individuals and couples explore personal strengths, past experiences, and vulnerability to achieve deeper connection and greater intimacy through the integration of the latest neuroscience, relationship research, skill building, and emotion focused therapy. I love to integrate these ideas into my speaking, writing, and counseling practice.
I enjoy learning from others and love teaching people how to fully embrace life and honor each experience as an opportunity for growth. You will reap the rewards of insight and change that come with fully engaging in life and the therapeutic process.
There are many ways to explore an issue or reach a set goal. With a client-centered approach, you help shape the unique therapy process tailored specifically for you. I have experience in and enjoy using various techniques to help you make progress toward a desired outcome. Here are some avenues that might be explored in the therapeutic process:
Talk therapy
Art therapy
Depth work
Jungian dream work
Family sculpting
Experiential exercises
Relapse prevention planning
Self-compassion exercises
Skill building
Spiritual direction from a Christian perspective
Telehealth upon request
My approach is emotion-focused and psychodynamic to promote insight, understanding, and depth work. I also use cutting-edge neuroscience and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training to promote self-acceptance, non-judgment, and behavior change. I teach skills in the the areas of interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation. My therapeutic approach promotes an environment of acceptance and compassion that over time becomes an increasing internal experience for my clients.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, spiritual direction, and eating disorders. I have worked in an inpatient facility for eating disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders, along with years of experience in private practice. I use DBT to build skills and use motivational interviewing to work with resistance and promote positive behavior change.

Women thrive in connection and community. Women are life-giving, relational, and have irreplaceable gifts to offer to themselves and the world. In western culture, the feminine has been marginalized, and as a result we all experience an increasing disconnection from one another. Often, in the media, women and girls are objectified for gain. The focus on external perfection has impacted most women raised in this culture leading to comparison, rejection, and disconnection with self and others.
In order to reconnect, compassion must welcome vulnerability. Acceptance can take the place of judgment to facilitate the embrace of each priceless individual's worth and the unique gifts of the true self. Love can lead to the embrace of who you are from the inside out. True radical acceptance leaves no room for comparison to others. Therapy can be part of the process of accepting unique strengths and beauty, along with the struggle and pain that come with the human experience.

The research is clear that being in a healthy, committed relationship has enormous benefit to your happiness and health, yet fewer and fewer adults get to experience this incredible aspect of life.
Divorce rates continue to be staggeringly high, and marriage rates are actually declining. Add to that the fact that therapy on its own is often “too little, too late” to revive struggling relationships, and the sad truth is that too many individuals are living in fear and disconnection.
You were born to love and to deeply connect. You have learned to fear. But you can learn to love again! If you are willing, you can reawaken to love, rediscover yourself, and reconnect to your relationship in ways that will transform your life and marriage.

I am committed to each client's unique process of integrating personal and spiritual beliefs in therapy. Some clients want to focus on spiritual direction exclusively and some may want to work on mental health issues in the light of their spiritual beliefs. I work with people from a Christian perspective and address issues of faith, spiritual growth, and spiritual disciplines.
My approach is spiritually sensitive. I hold sacred and respect each client's beliefs in the pursuit of integrated spirituality. There is power in identifying resistance and division through the practice of surrender. Healing is facilitated by unifying the person once again with self, others, and God. Connection with God, self, and others helps meet the deepest needs of the person In the abiding presence of perfect Love. Perfect love casts out all fear. You are perfectly loved as you are and as you accept perfect love you will be made perfect by love, in love, and through love.
